International Artist at the Intersection of Nature, Transformation, and Contemporary Art
I am an international artist whose work navigates the space between precise observation and a deep connection to nature. I am international in the sense that I now have a studio in Italy and continually seek inspiration through extended travels in Africa, Canada, and Madagascar. In 2023, I was commissioned to paint a 6-meter-tall forest scene for the residence of the German Embassy in Jakarta.
My painting is both a snapshot and a transmutation—a pause in the fleeting moment that transforms into something lasting. For years, her work has been part of major art collections and has been exhibited in museums both in Germany and abroad.
Wild animals such as the wolf appear in her works not merely as motifs, but as mirrors: as symbols of what we, as cultural beings, have lost—and perhaps can regain. Krohn’s contemporary art places humanity back within the web of life and reveals what lies between civilization and wilderness.
Yes, naturally I´m of the opinion that man is part of the reality of nature, of the all embracing net of life. And this is something I wish to depict in my paintings.
On the other hand I´m also aware that at present, the cultural creature man is a force of destruction within natureand that there´s also a large gulf inbetween man and nature.
In this confrontation with nature, man as a moral being confronts hisself; insofar as he, in the depths of nature, must reach a decision about himself and others.
